Trails near York PA or to the east

I am Traveling between Philly and York, and wanted to do a ride near york, or to the east or north-east of York.
I am doing a college visit with my Daughter at 11AM this Tuesday at york College. and would like to sneak in a ride early morning ride before.

I am happy riding any thing, ( I mean trails)

    Any suggestion would be great

I say Rocky Ridge is your best bet. About one mile off of Rt 30 at the Mt Zion exit(would be east of York College). A couple of easier trails and a couple of more technical trails.

York College is a nice campus, they have been doing a lot of work to it recently. I work right next to it.

I agree that Rocky Ridge would your best bet. York College is close by and easy to get to from there. There is a GPS map HERE that you can download and take with you. If you need directions to or from Rocky Ridge I can give them to you.

Don't know what condition 'The Lakes' are in, but they are like Fair Hill (compared to Rocky Ridge) and are right down the street from Rocky Ridge.

You can contact these guys for more info (trail Group in York Pa.)

William H Kain park, aka Lake Redman or "The Lakes", have been in good shape. And that park is even closer to York College than Rocky Ridge. However I wouldn't recommend a first timer ride there for a quick ride. It's a lot more spread out and it is hard to put quick loops together if you aren't familiar with the trails. At Rocky Ridge it is easy to throw short loops together and hard to get lost with the road at the top of the ridge, which for the OP is a good thing since they have an appointment in the morning.

    possible rain monday night

I have a open street map on my Garmin.
have not checked to see if either locations are mapped out.
But I won't get lost if the trails are on the GPS.

Which trails are more fun? and if wet which trails?

Any one want to join me, I wanted to start riding Tuesday at 7:15AM

    Fun Ride at Rocky Ridge

    Thank
Had a Fun ride at Rocky Ridge, although the first part of the ride I rode the wrong direction and had to push the bike up some cool downhills.
