    Swatara condition?

How is Swatara after all the rain we had this past week? Ridable or stay away?

Should be fine. I rode it Thursday, while it was drizzly. Wet, but it was mighty nice.

Rode Swatara today around 2:00 PM. Despite the morning rain, the trails were dry. There was a forest/brush fire yesterday on A1 loop, but it is rideable.

Rode Swatara Saturday was in great shape! yeah looks like a small brush fire went thru a bit of A1 if im not mistaken.. otherwise trails were
    fine as usual.

SO - since there was a fire already, perhaps this can be an opportunity to make some wider trails, or perhaps sections with technical features? (Such as burned up tree/log crossings???????)

Sorry please do not modify the trails. SAMBA has worked hard with DCNR to allow bikes in the park and we would not want to damage that relationship.

Trail work days will be posted soon on Susquehanna Area Mountain Bike Association - SAMBA

    Thanks,

    Brian, SAMBA

Nonono, not any "unauthorized" changes. Just seems like this would be an ideal time to get authorization to make changes. I have not seen it first hand yet, but if there is already very serious damage to an area, modified or altered trails would actually aid in repair to the area.
In other words, what possible complaint or alleged "damage" can a trail cause in a completely burned up area.

The fire damage wasn't too extensive. I was there Saturday it smelled fresh, glad it was as a small an area as it was.

Curious about the current trail conditions. Considering riding tomorrow morning, but not if the trails are muddy. Any updates?

When we (SAMBA) were out trimming on Wednesday night it was still pretty wet. With all the rain we've had this year it's been much like spring thaw conditions on the trails (sloppy & muddy).

Actually not too bad this evening. Most any wet or muddy spots are a few corners, or the typical low dips. Should be decent in the morning.

We were there last Wednesday, great fun!

Hey SAMBA "THANKS" I noticed the scuppers on the D trail, lots of hard work to save the trail. Without this work it would have been puddle after puddle. This shows the level of dedication you guys are willing to put out.

Most riders never see now much work goes into keeping a trail nice to ride! SAMBA knows and gets the work done, so we can all enjoy a great place to ride our mt bikes!

    Helmets off to you guys!
    All hail SAMBA

I want to echo NEPMTBA's comment regarding SAMBA's efforts. Great Job SAMBA!
