    State College <> Jim Thorpe

Have two windows to ride while in PA next week.

First ride will be in Raystown Lake area.

Second ride will likely be in either State College or Jim Thorpe areas. How do the trails in both areas compare to each other. I have read about Jim Thorpe in the past, but it doesn't seem to be as popular as it once was.

    Thanks you for the guidance!

My Jim Thorpe experience is a bit stale at this point, but it sounds like with a local showing you around you can have a great ride. That being said, Rothrock is awesome, well mapped, and can deliver epic rides with a capital E. Having ridden both Raystown and Rothrock, I'd pick Rothrock every time. Heck, I'd pick two days at Rothrock rather than split it up with a day at Raystown.

if you have the option i'd ride whatever else FIRST then raystown second. raystown is smooth and flowy; the other two spots, not so much. I'D PLAN TO: go in fresh for optimum rock wrestling at either spot day 1 (both great; jimthorpe probably needing some more local knowledge) then relax with some flow atr raystown on day 2. if possible...

Thanks! I'll likely have two days of work between my rides at Raystown and Rothrock, unless I can manage a quick ride at North Park while in Pitt for work. Which would be a added bonus.
