You are fine to ride during archery season, most of the hunters I encountered there were always friendly. The park is only open to rifle for a few days(requires a permit from the parks department) and they always post warning signs before hand.

Thanks so much. I'm off work this week and was planning to ride there during the weekday.

Any locals know whether there is active hunting at Rocky Ridge? I have to be out there for work next couple weeks and saw on the County website there is hunting but you need a "special permit." Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

    ***HUNTING NOTICE***
    December 4, 5 & 6
    Park CLOSED for hunting
Kain and Rocky Ridge County Parks will be closed to general public for a special antlerless deer hunt. Special permit is needed.
YAMBA has night rides planned for Rocky Ridge on both December 4th and 6th. We are ok to ride since hunting ends at dusk. If you arrive early while it is still light outside, DO NOT ride on the trails.

Thanks Matt. Appreciate it. How are the trails riding at Rocky Ridge? Is it leaf surfing or are they pretty chewed up by now?

I haven't been there in a long time. YAMBA posted that the leaf blew a lot of the main trails.

Thanks again Matt. I looked on their website and didn't see it, but I'm not on FB so if they posted it there I can't see it. Looks like a fun place to ride.

Yeah, it was on FB. They had a work day to leaf blow the trails prior to the annual night rides during the Christmas Magic light display at the park. Next week they have two more group night rides, Monday and Wednesday.

I know itís late, but Iíve never had problems during archery, and hunters have been friendly. Just dress bright. I find the Ridge pretty sketch with leaf litter, not because of wash out, but more because you canít read the terrain.
