    Roaring creek

Rode the reservoir road at Roaring creek today. Dirt was starting to show through in a few spots, but it was mostly a water-covered sheet of ice. No problems at all with studded tires, but I wouldn't recommend it otherwise.

I dont know Lee. I couldn't even stand in some spots. Flurry was even slipping with her 4 paw drive.

Guys just keep saying to yourself... were not in Kansas anymore... were not in Kansas any.......but seriously, neither of you ride Fats that I have ever seen, and dropping the pressure to about 4 lbs on a fat tire flattens the tire profile and gives traction. The idea there is to catch the edge and not get sucked into the deeper snow on the side.

I have been commuting to work everyday and ride a regular 29er mtb and it even works on those tires, but more like 20lbs for them....
...not saying I'm anti stud, but when I use studs it is for trails I ride where lots of climbing is at hand. Studs have lots of drag and make "snow" riding more difficult if ice isn't present.

I was on a fat bike. There was no snow, just water covered ice. But this is moot anyhow, given the temps and expected rain I'm thinking it'll be dirt by Sunday! Woooooo!
