Relocation to Watsontown / Williamsport Area

I am relocating to this area in Jan and I'm hoping someone can tell me there is awesome biking within an hours drive? We do everything from xc to dh although there is not much of that from the Chicago area where we are coming from. I am looking forward to some new scenery. Also, anyone know of any mx tracks out there?
Thanks in advance for the help,
    Wayne

I've been stuck in Chicago for too long!

I will look those up and thanks for the heads up. We are flying out this weekend to look for houses so if the weather is decent, we may check some trails out.

    I've got a 06 YZ 125 and an 08 YZ 450.

I'm trying to get my son excited about the move with some good riding areas.

Danville, Mainville, and Roaring Creek are all within an hour of Watsontown. And I'm sure there are a lot more. You will find a lot of good mtb areas, and numerous MX tracks.
Also some of the best enduros in the country are within about an hour of Williamsport. Including the Rattlesnake National Enduro at Cross Fork.
If your son is into motorcycles, check out the ECEA harescramble series. They have excellent events for the young 'uns.

I'm in Williamsport, and we have a fair number of trails. Rider Park, Little Bear State park, Ravensburg are all within an hour . There are a few more closer than that also. I only do xc, but there are a few local DHers. I'd be happy to point you in the right direction when you get in state. I can guide a few of them, but some we'll need backup.

    Good job!

    I would like to add...

... the list grows longer as you go further from Billtown. Pine Creek corridor has lots to explore all the way to Wellsboro! At Wellsboro, Asaph area right off Rt6 has a mtb race the Laurel Classic and fantastic riding, then just head west on Rt 6 through Potter county, Denton HIll ski area old mtb 25 mile race course on ATV trails. Heading down Rt 144 Ole Bull SP has mt bike races and more stuff to ride. Senterio de Shay trail nearby, Kettle Creek SP, all the way to Snowshoe Pa with the old Beech Creek railbed, further the Eagleton Mine Camp trail system. Hook onto RT80 and hit Black Moshannon SF area...

... by the time you get home from that loop of riding areas it will be year 2021 ... LOL

I live in New Columbia just north of Lewisburg, on the eastern edge of Bald Eagle State Forest. Lots of trails from here west to RB Winter State Park, and then southwest into Rothrock State Forest / State College area. Let me know if you want to go riding.
