Raystown - Best area to kill 2 hours?

I have never been to Raystown but I am going to be in the area on Saturday. I'll have about 2 hours to ride so I can't do too much exploring.

Can you guys point me in the right direction? If you guys who know the trail had only 2 hours to ride, where would you go? Best/most fun trail? Thanks

I'm not a local but it's the internet and I have an opinion, so...

Park on the lot on Baker's Hollow rd.

Then go play on the trails on the east side ...

    Buck to Doe,
    Does to Sleek Dog,
    Sleek Dog to Eagle,
    Hydro,
    Sidewinder,
Short cut up to Berry Patch,
    Berry Patch to Loco-Motive,
    Loco-Motive to Red Legs,
    Red Legs to Grippis,
    Grippis down to Ridge,
Ridge down to overlook where you pick up Rays Revenge,
Ray's Revenge down to Berry Patch,
    depending on time, either
    - Loco-Motive -> Red Legs -> Alle -> Buck -> parking lot
    or
    - Berry Patch -> overlook and back up Ridge -> Grippis -> Alle -> Buck -> parking lot
    or
    some variation

Only thing truly missing is going down Osprey, but I'd rather go down Ray's Revenge than Osprey if that's the choice.

Hydro works well in both directions, just be wary on lots of trail of oncoming traffic. Speeds get high in some areas.

I've ridden there for the past few DirtFests and the general loop we normally go through is as follows:

    Buck to Allie
    Allie to Grippis
    Grippis to Ridge
    Ridge to Rays Revenge
    Rays Revenge to Osprey
    Osprey to Hydro Loop
    Hydro Loop to Eagle
    Eagle to Sleek Dog

    - Sleek Dog to Doe to parking
    or
    - Sleek Dog to Fawn (For Full Osprey) to Osprey to Hydro

Since you're out there I would definitely hit Osprey it's one of the popular trails. Enjoy it!

If Osprey is the one with the berms I would shoot for that. Everything else like the guys said.

One loop is about 15 miles.

I've run this in the past:

    Buck - Fawn - OSPREY - Hydro Loop (CCW) - Osprey - Sidewinder - Left onto Ray's - Barry Patch - Rays - Loco Motive - Red Legs - Allie - Buck

That's about 16 miles. There's a ton of combos that work. Speed is usually your friend and also what will get you in trouble.

Be warned, the short climb back up Osprey after the Hydro Loop sucks....the subsequent climb up Sidewider equally sucks!

Ray's, Osprey and Hydro are, IMO, the best trails there and should never be missed!

I've heard Allegheny is great too, but I've yet to ride it....it is the only trail there I haven't ridden actually.

Thanks for the suggestions. I got lost and spent a little over 3 hours and had a good time. I really liked the trails. It reminded me of Middle Run / White Clay but with bigger hills and longer runs. I am going to plan a longer trip and camp a night or two. Anyone interested in a trip, let me know.
