    Prompton State Park

I'm going to be near Honesdale PA this week and would like to hit some single track. I hear Prompton is a good place to go. I think I have good directions but can some one give me the low down on the park. Like where is the best place to park? which trails are the best? and which direction?

I'm use to ride east coast trails and would like to do 2hrs +

    thanks

Prompton's definitely your best bet near Honesdale.

Park near the dam, the ride is counterclockwise around lake. Cross the dam, single track starts immediately on other side, take yellow trail. It's pretty hard to get lost.

Be prepared with some gels/bars or what not also. Once you get on the other side of the lake you either have to finish out the ride or swim back across! haha.

It's a little grown in, but ridable and fun as always. From Plains- take 81N to the Casey highway (The new route 6) just past the Drinker street exit. Follow it all the way out past Carbondale. You'll start to go down a big hill and come to a stop light in Waymart. Stay straight for 4 miles. Make a LEFT on 170 and the parking lot is 1/4 mile on the right. For a map, go to Hubbard's web site in my sig and click on maps in the upper right corner. ttyl, Fahn

PS. HT's are the way to go up there!
