Moon lake?? I need a fix

Warm weather, rain, fatbikes as far as the eye can see. Any chance for rideable trails this weekend?

Pretty good thaw we are having, but it will take time! Use your good judgement!

Hmmm. Not to start a pissing contest, but I remember last year, I was at Blue Marsh Lake in the thaw season, and I saw footprints from hikers that were good 3-4 inches deep. I rode through the same super muddy section and my bike barely made visible treadmarks.

It truly all depends on the weight of the rider, the width of the tires, the consistency of the mud; usually, it's best to just stay away until it is drier. I usually head to places where nobody gives a shit, like the multi use trails where horses are allowed, places where no mountain biking grooming is done. I'm not about to shit on someone else's hard work.

Oh, I getcha. This truly is the year of fatbike explosion. The year when everyone and their mom buys a Framed or Motobecane (nothing wrong with that!) and with all the noobs comes many people thinking their big tired bike is the be all end all, with carte blanche to ride wherever they feel. I see it all over Facebook.
