    Merli-Sarnoski Help

I'm taking my girlfriend on a MTB trip to Lackawanna State park. She is still a beginner and these looked like the most friendly trails to those with a limited skill set. Looking at reviews, it seems like the trails there get muddy very easily though. I also saw on some reviews that there were sections of Merli-Sarnoski that were more beginner friendly and some very technical/rocky. I was thinking of checking these out if the weather is a little wet. Can anyone recommend a easier, less technical route at Merli-Sarnoski? I'm having a hard time finding a trail map as well.

    -Thanks

Tough call, yes if wet then please refrain from LSP; for the trails in the area it holds water the most IMO and gets damaged the most.

I don't know Merli very well though, so can't advise on a good beginner loop there.

TrailForks seems to have some coverage, may be helpful.

From what I dimly recall, starting at the parking lot where the entrance road comes in and riding a clockwise loop could work ... following the blue trail? Problem is, I also remember the trail being hard to follow sometimes there, for whatever reason. Sorry I don't have better info.

Where do you live? LSP is going to be the best beginner trail near scranton. If you are nearer to the poconos camelback and jacobsburg have some great entry level terrain

I'm coming from Auburn, NY. So those trails would be about another hour away.
