The King of Spring Mountain Bike Race

Spring is back! Come join us for a great day of racing at the Spring Mount Ski Area in scenic Schwenksville, PA. on August the 2nd. Those of you who have been involved and around the sport will remember some great racing back in the 1990's and early 2000's. We have laid out a brand new course with some of same trails and sections like the super technical switchback climb and of course the infamous pit which is great for spectators.

Heading to Mt. Snow Vermont or Windham New York for the Kenda cup races? Well, this is a classic ski slope course with lots of climbing and technical sections which will help you get your climbing legs and technical skills back and get you ready. For those mass racers this will definitely help get you prepared for French Creek, Neshaminy and the killer Bear Creek finals in September.

There have been lots of changes at Spring the last several years so while you're here check out the zipline tours and make a reservation to come back and give it a try. There is also a Tiki Bar restaurant with a grill your own barbeque and awesome bar, breakfast buffet and pizza place right at the mountain.

Camping is available right across the scenic Perkiomen Creek along with the beautiful perkiomen trail that runs from green lane park and can connect you all the way to philly. So lets see you could come up Saturday and get a guided highly recommended pre-ride of the course with some local hotshots, have dinner and drinks at the Tiki bar, camp along the beautiful perkiomen creek, wake up and have breakfast at the buffet, warm up on the scenic perkiomen trail and refuel with a pizza before you leave. It's all right at the mountain and sounds like a great race weekend so come on out and help us get this race going again. For you day trippers we are only about thirty or so miles from Philly and right off the northeast extension of the PA turnpike. So tell all your friends and we will see you there!

What a Great Race and place to ride!!! just now back on the computer...the race actually went off, just an hour delay...the rain was on and off, the Beg.'s went first and missed most of it, the lap count was kowcked down to one for them and some of the more techical stuff was left in to compensate...but because of rain, thunder and some lightning caused the lap count to be reduced...
During sport race (2 laps), it POURED!!!! the guys had a hell of a race and young Forest Conrad kicked some butt, took the overall and won a nice bike frame!!!!
Pro/Expert had good weather for the most part, and ALL did 3 laps...it ws an incredible race with plenty of flats that really changed up the line-up...there were some very close races within the race, made for some very exiting spectating...
Congrats to the King and Queen of the Mountain!!! I believe it was Dylan Alisio that was the King (yes I too confuse the brothers) and the Queen was Janel Demeter (ms).
The whole event went off without any major hitches, congrats go out to all, and the Promoter deserve a pat on the back for job well done considering the weather conditions...
The course was "killer"...some steep climbs, very technical rock sections and the area has remanents of an old "freeride" setup...there still exist a very cool ladder which drops ya into a deep culvert which parralled the course, well Jeff from Bikesport in the Sport class hit it his frist lap and cleaned it beautifully...second lap he tried it, but it was alot wetter and he I'm sure was alot more tired so it didn't quiet work out the same...in all what a very cool place to ride!!!
Thanks all...it was fun for me to volunteer and help on the race...hope everyone that came had a good time, should be back next year from what I hear!!!!
