    Hunting season question

Is there any rule of thumb for public land usage during hunting season? Hunting is by permit only on lake redman and there were quite a few hunters out yesterday...none were pleased to see me go figure. I couldnt find anything about not using the park for other activities and the trails were listed as open. I didnt see anyone riding until i was leaving but there were a few others riding. I was respectful and said hello to them as theg walked along the trails, one guy left and drove somewhere else tp hunt and i ended up seeing hin again there whoops haha

Regardless, it was an excellent ride and the weather cannot be beat! Bad phone pic, Trail 4: https://i.imgur.com/FKXggOm.jpg

For state game lands please keep in mind that there's very few authorized locations for non-hunters, mostly the doubletrack forest roads and the like, if any.

For state parks, forests, etc., they are NOT closed to non-hunter use, but please be safe, dress appropriately, and use common sense, if any. :^)

If it is not designated game lands, ride it.

They have their own "private" 1.5 million acres of land that no one is allowed to even breathe on. If it's NOT a game land, it does NOT magically turn into a holy hunting ground, and it is OPEN to ANYONE.

They don't like that, tough nuts.

Here in Minnesota during any gun season I believe the law is orange vest and hat even if not hunting. As a hunter even in a non hunting situation I would follow this. I've seen too many people that don't follow the laws and shoot at movement.

Yeah. Just stay away from SGLs. Wear orange riding everywhere else since in PA, "If it's brown, it's down" all fall long.

    I always will remember,
    'twas a year ago November,
I went out to hunt some deer
On a mornin' bright and clear.
I went and shot the maximum the game laws would allow,
Two game wardens, seven hunters, and a cow.
I was in no mood to trifle,
I took down my trusty rifle
And went out to stalk my prey.
What a haul I made that day.
I tied them to my fender, and I drove them home somehow,
Two game wardens, seven hunters, and a cow.
The law was very firm, it
    Took away my permit,
The worst punishment I ever endured.
It turned out there was a reason,
    Cows were out of season,
And one of the hunters wasn't insured.
People ask me how I do it,
And I say, "there's nothin' to it,
You just stand there lookin' cute,
And when something moves, you shoot!"
And there's ten stuffed heads in my trophy room right now,
Two game wardens, seven hunters, and a pure-bred guernsey cow.
