first time at harrisburg parkway trails

Very cool trails! I parked at the 3302 derry st lot and rode PAX 4 first, it was really cool, and theres a destroyed huffy hanging along the trail, a victim i suppose!

Thought i was at the south end of the offroad trail system so i headed north reallllllly far along the capital greenbelt, i ended up near the farm show complex before i decided i had messed up...what a hike!

Hit all the other paxtang trails on the way back and was not let down! Nobody else on the trails, would highly recommend hitting these trails up if you never have! Not sure how the South trails are along cameron street, but PAX 1 had great flow for quite some time and PAX 4 had awesome pump lines. Throw in the 'skinny' exit bridges and it made for an exciting afternoon ride!

Guess I will have to join SAMBA now, kudos to the builders of this trail system.

It is really a very fun and well built trail system, convenient to the city, exciting for all levels of riders, and more to come. Joining SAMBA would be great, we can use all the help we can get. Because of the success of the Parkway trails, there are at least a half dozen opportunities to build trails other places around the area. Good things to come! Check out the SAMBA facebook page.

    Any regular afternoon riders?

I generally ride the Pax trails since I live a couple block from the norther part of the Pax trails.

Post to SAMBA's FB page about rides. There are a number of riders local to the Parkway Trails.

Those trails are fun. Some berms, lots of tight turns, one steep short hill, some obstacles, some construction debris. Not super fast but a good workout. A lot of nice bars and restaurants. Out of towners can stay in Hersey, ride Swatera one day then Hburg the next. Hit up the midtown bars or brew pubs in-between, a nice long weekend.
