Bike Fee out of Pitt's Airport?

Anyone know of any 'discount' ways to fly your bike out of Pittsburg? (Besides shipping it, or IMBA, or renting) At my local airport, I just use curbside checkin. Most of the time they don't care even if I check-in inside. $80 is just a lot of money to fly your bike.

    Thanks!

I shipped mine from Pgh. using UPS for about 50 and met my bike in Crested Butte last year rather than the airline.
Good luck. I'd take it in.

I don't think it matters what airport you fly out of, it usually depends on the airline. When I came back from Utah, it was about $80. After pricing the airlines out, they were all around the same amount. I was pressed up against the window making sure it go loaded onto the plane, but I think I would rather take it with, than ship it using some carrier like UPS. Just my 2 cents.

I believe Fedex gound is the cheapest. They are reliable as well, includes tracking. The rates have nothing to do with the airport. Traveling with a bike is a pain in the ass no matter how you do it, I think shipping is easier, you don't have to deal with the airport at all.
