I just got screwed by Irene!

Not that I'm complaining about it. My 2011 Bend and Beyond tour was supposed to come to an end today. But hurricane Irene is ravaging the east coast and all flights in/out of D.C. are cancelled for the weekend (along with most other east coast flights). Tuesday is the earliest I could book a flight to D.C. so it looks like you Oregonians are stuck with the Steiny for a couple more days.

To be honest, I'm hoping my flight gets cancelled again so I can slack off a bit longer.

    Let's see, where's Yellowman at today ...

It's the epic getaway with no end. Starting tomorrow, I'm calling myself a seasonal resident. I think I qualify.

I talked to the owner of the house I'm renting and she said I have to be out on Monday because there is someone coming next week who has the house rented for 2 months. 2 MONTHS! Clearly I haven't been dreaming big enough. Now that's the way you get 'er done. Maybe next year ...

Keep Charlie in the loop for me and tell him I said hello.

Just this morning I was wishing I had more time so I could make a day trip down to Crater Lake. I'll bet you can't guess what I'm doing tomorrow?

    Road trip !!!

Yes. Did MRT on Monday 8/22 using Cog Wild shuttle. Rob, Patrick, and Steve (guys I rode Prineville with) were on the shuttle along with 6 other people. We had a blast.

Edit: I almost forgot - we had a sasquatch sighting. We heard this noise along the trail and then saw this sasquatch raise its arms like it was angry. Maybe it had some young ones nearby. I barely had time to snap the photo and then we took off. Scary stuff. I'm defintely a believer now.

You should hook up with the Falls Creek crew today. Definitely more Bigfoot sightings in Skamania County than anywhere else. There's even a law on the books prohibiting shooting them. Really.
