    Eugene Cyclocross

I know this is a bit out of the line for mountain bike forums, but I'm thinking about jumping into some cyclocross this coming season and I don't know anything about the Eugene cyclocross series. So... I'd like to know..

    1. How ******y are the participants,
    2. When and how long,
    3. Cost?
    4. I guess anything you want to throw at me would be welcomed.

    I'd love some links too.

Come on out and have some fun.

I helped start the Eugene CX series and can tell you it is perfect for first time and advanced Crossers.

The racers are a blast at every CX event, the main thing between the smaller local races and the larger races is the fans. The larger fans bring out more people to yell and ring cow bells at you.

Check out the flyer (http://www.obra.org/flyers/2010/hutc...ight_ccx.html), if you have never raced before, start in the C category, if you have raced at least sport on the MTB then start out in the B category, or do the C race your first time.

    Cost, see the flyer.

While you don't need it, practice is a good thing for Cross, get used to jumping off your bike and on it during the ride. There were practice rides last year up at Crest School but I haven't heard if they are happening this year.

You can check out my blog for some links, it was off line for a year and I've just started posting again (having a kid will do that to you). Some of the links are old but still take you around to most CX sites.

If you want to hook up for a ride around town and do some practice and get some guidance shoot me an email at (bikinjoe<AT>gmail<dot>com and I would be happy to show you a few things.

Ok, I'll try and make it. Thanks for the information. The big problem now is that the cross series conflicts with my soccer schedule.... so sad.
