    AL vs Carbon Occam

I was planning on getting a H10 Occam but in the config I want, I could get the M30 for $500 more. The H10 was already at the top of my budget at $4481 for the config but the M30 comes out to $4981 with the same upgrades.
I'm conflicted as I've never owned a carbon frame but welcome the lighter weight. I'm not too concerned about the groupset difference as SLX is ok for me. I'd prefer XT but I can always upgrade as needed.
FYI I'm coming from a '18 AL Giant Trance 2, 27.5 Carbon wheels, and angleset (65.5deg).
I ride SoCal trails with long climbs and steep loose downhills. Max jumps I hit are 2-3 foot kickers (see Curtis Keene on Jedi as that's a regular trail for me).
Am I wasting money on carbon?

It's about 2 pounds lighter I believe. I tried the aluminum and it was fine but I like the lighter carbon frame.

I went with the same M30 build myself.

You can always upgrade drivetrain parts but not frame! Actually with that build you are still getting XT brakes and rear derailleur. XT shifter is only $60 upgrade. Chain and cassette will wear and can be replaced. And crankset doesn't make a big difference to me.

Got a M39 Medium - with tubeless it weighs 28.9 lbs with stamp1's and stock seat.

Want a speed or volt wtb saddle - surely heavier than that fizik thing. LOL
