Didn't see it but within the past 2 years or so, I'd read a story in Outside mag (I think) about any known or last details.
That theory suggested she and the person with her lived out their years on a deserted island near where the plane went down in semi shallow waters.

I doubt it was years. There was no fresh water on the island, little food, and was equatorial hot. A few hellish weeks at best. A slow painful death.

Supposedly navigation was not her strong suit. She really sucked at it.

Well played chuckha ... Maybe they all found true love ... Pilot/Skipper ... Movie star/Professor ... Maryann/Gilligan ... who needs rescued!

    Rescued Indeed

When a decaying Russian satellite crashes on the island, the Professor uses a key component for a barometer. With that device, he learns that a massive wave is going to swamp the island. In desperation, the castaways lash their huts together into one structure in order to have any chance to ride the disaster out. The wave strikes the island and the hut is swept out to sea. Once there, Gilligan accidents starts a fire trying to cook a meal and nearly burns the floating hut down. Occupied with stopping the fire, the gang fails to notice that the smoke caught the attention of a naval helicopter who summoned a ship to rescue the castaways. In triumph, they return to Hawaii, only to learn that things have changed over the years and they will have trouble fitting in. PS ... I just made all that up! ... kidding ... its the gospel

So you're saying Gilligan's Island should have been a few episodes at most instead of running so many years ?
Man, I'm thankful those writers were able to use such imagination to stretch it out some !!

And it was obvious from that back view that it couldn't be Amelia Earhart. That photo used in the documentary shows a woman with hips and love handles hanging over the hips. Now , if she had crashed and was rescued, no doubt she would be skinnier. Finally, any photo of the aviatrix shows she was rail thin and straight. No hour glass figure for Amelia.

That's when I knew the show was bogus. Right up there with Al Capone's safe.

    Aha !
Thanks for setting it straight. I think I was sloppy with a figure of speech.
This will help me remember to take enough water on my bike rides though!

Are those the bones that were lost? I didn't think it was ever concluded they were hers (or Noonan's) but the whole story line is pretty convoluted.
