    What Makes You "GIDDY"?

For me, it's the anticipation of the upcoming annual houseboat trip on Lake Mead. This will be our 21st consecutive trip. Although we've invited the odd friend to come along over the years, there's a core group of 7 guys who have made most every trip. We come from the L.A. area, the Cen Cal Coastal area, and from the Bay area. We've been hanging around together since we were kids. We even brew our own private label beer for the trip which we named Dead Carp Red. We print up dated, personalized labels on 22oz. bottles. That in itself is a little party, lol! It's a potent version of Red Nector brew in case any serious beer drinkers are wondering what it's like. When the houseboat trip is finished, we spend the last night in Vegas!

    So, what makes you giddy???

I have to ask? Is it possible to experience the alternative... waking up dead? I can say w/o a doubt that I have woken up quite a few times in my life when I wish I was dead instead.

I absolutely dig our Solar System. I keep my big telescope out in the desert and every time we go up there, we use it to watch (at night, as long as it's not too windy) whatever planets are in view. Last month, it was Saturn. Jupiter is always fun when it's around to see. Venus is not real good for telescope viewing, IMO. Just a glowing blob, no personality at all. Been trying to see Mars for sometime now but I keep missing it every time it get's close. The kids get a kick out of the Moon, too. We used the pinhole in one paper over another to view the last partial Solar Eclipse. Missed the Venus Transit but saw pics online.

This girl was the giddiest person I've seen in a long while. (skip ahead to about 2:40 minutes in to see what I mean).

Sadly (or fortunately?), I've never been that giddy in my life.
