    Good job! VeloDrome

There is an old abandoned Velodrome in Detroit. I can remember my Uncle taking us there in the late 60's/early 70's.
The Velodrome has been abandoned since the late 70's.
We went and visited the Velodrome today on our motorcycles. I was riding my Triumph Steve McQueen Special Edition.
The Velodrome is broken up, but still fun to ride.

We have an old velodrome in San Diego, too, but it's been maintained and they still race bicycles on it.
Maybe you can get some help and restore that one. Velodromes are like holy places for cyclists.

If you restore it, it will bring you good luck, and the fixie riders will literally come out of the woodwork.

    Velodromes rock!

I hate velodromes... the worst places for putting on a concert. There's an old one in San Sebastian, Spain, where the track is concrete and you either have to take all the gear down a hallway, down some stairs, then thru a narrow winding tunnel under the track over broken concrete and back up a long steep ramp to the infield floor where the stage ends up. Long, painful process with a big rock show.
    It's all Here. Now.

Yup. They've been doing it for a few years now. These guys have been cleaning up the area quite a bit. I watched some races a few years back and had a good time. Lots of laughs.

There are also (um....unsanctioned) cycle cross races held there. The one I did, had a tequila short cut. The winner in my group, did 7 or 8 shots if I remember correctly. One the hardest and most fun races I've ever done.

This is the Velodrome from Google maps.
In the top picture, lower left where all the trees are you can see remnants of Derby Hill.
