Sitting indoors with the A/C cranking. W/o underwear I might add.

It is blazing hot here in Los Angeles and it's going to get hotter over the next few days. It's also incredibly clear up in the foothills where I live and play.

I'm contemplating going up to Mammoth Lakes in the mountains for the weekend, and to soak in Whitney Hot Tubs by the Green Church under a lot of moonlight. Clothing optional, good beer mandatory.

You do understand that there has been a lot of geological activity up there lately, don't you? She's gonna blow!

I think that's what he's hoping for. It's been awhile since his last date.

Fluid movement not magma... However, the CALVO isn't telling that could lead to something like a phreatic explosion. Think Ubehebe Crater in Death Valley.

In case you haven't noticed, there has been a lot of volcanic awakenings across the globe recently. I'd take that a little more serious than they want you to. They are all going to blow at the same time. Get ready for the fireworks show of a lifetime.

I really hate it when the high pressure/off shore wind conditions make it hotter in So Cal than it is in AZ. Rant you very much!

In case I haven't noticed... I study volcanology on the side and regularly check HVO, CalVo, and CVO, plus tons of reading.
Long Valley and Mammoth Mtn, Inyo Mono Craters, are practically in my back yard.
It's geothermal action that has been causing the quake swarm up there.
That being said, they tend to underplay what happens if all that water (fluid) gets into the magma chamber under the Resurgent Dome, or one of the nearby dyke systems.
I'm suspicious they underplay it, because they got sued by the business and property owners around Mammoth back in the 80s for making a mandatory evacuation.
They hardly ever talk about Mammoth on the news but there has been lots of gas emissions and the resurgent dome has been rising about 1" per year since the 80s.
Hot Creek and other springs have been getting hotter as well. None of the above are good signs.

Huh. Rain and highs in the upper 40s-low 50s in Michigan this weekend. I don't think I need to worry about getting overheated!
