I first saw the beastie boys when they played the video for "she's on it"

    <iframe width="480" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/9PLfjhQG97I" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

It was off their first major label EP, prior to License to Ill. I thought it was awesome especially against all the other trash music of the eighties. I of course got "License to Ill" when it came out, still have the vinyl. Then Paul's Boutique came out at the Dust Brothers album always stands for me as the Beasties White album. I varied a bit in enjoyment as they experimented with more Rap style music and sometimes the political stuff put me off a bit, but they always were a very enjoyable group, never selling out, and staying in possession of their intellectual property, and that I can respect!

Sad loss for them boys from brooklyn.

I also saw them on tour as a punk band for the cookie puss ep.
Then with Run DMC for the license To Ill tour, and many, many times after...
Pauls Boutique was by far my favorite album as well.

Saw these guys live a couple of times back in the day. Kind of fell out of touch with them when they went a little too political, but the music world still lost someone great....

Sad...Only saw them once, on Hello Nasty tour. By then they were too old to be doing what they were doing.

    A little Paul's Boutique:

I'm still shocked and saddened by this. Still remember when I first heard them back in 89'. Love their style and flow.

As I posted in General..............very sad indeed. I've been a big fan for many years.

RIP Yauch. Thoughts go out to his family and friends. Thanks for being a big part of the soundtrack to my youth and beyond.

I used a Beastie tune not long ago in my last ride video. Thought I'd throw it in here in his memory.

Uh, okay, I'm not sure what was disrespectful about my post, seeing as I loved the B-Boys. I would, however characterize anonomous-neg reps as classless. RIP Adam.

"'Cause you can't, you won't, and you don't stop" ...

Some of my favorite riding music. The Beasties helped push me up a long hill a couple rides ago.

    RIP.
