    R.I.P. Glenn

I remember growing up and my mom had a crush on him.

The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. Another collaboration with the great Jimmy Webb.
Some critics have said the lyrics are a little on the opaque, overly poetic side. They've never been in love, and Campbell's rendition will break your heart!

Been listening to him all day. My understanding is he could still shred a guitar into late stage dementia. Time can be a cruel bitch, love your life today.
It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.

I don't have any of his albums or anything, but I've always I respected him and his music throughout my life of metal fanaticism.

Steve Martin tweeted a RIP and said Glen gave him his first job as a writer, I need to find out more about that.

Had the extreme pleasure to have him guest on a few shows when I was with Keith Urban, and got to hear him do Wichita Lineman a few times! A legend, and a very courageous man as he dealt with his illness. As 'Nard says, love your life!

I didn't realize he was a Beach Boy in his early musical career.

Jimmy Webb (Wichita Lineman, The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, Galveston, etc.) had a prolific career as a songwriter, often with Campbell the beneficiary.
    His take on Campbell:

I used to literally pray that God would let me grow up and be a songwriter and be lucky enough to have Glen Campbell record one of my songs. I rest my case for the existence of God.

Glen was also one of the major members of the Wrecking Crew.
