Yup, I would say since Straight Ahead which came out 19yrs ago.
Funny thing is I think All or Nothing was their best album since Straight Ahead music wise. Now it's not even listed on their website. Kind of an FU to Zoli me thinks.

I guess I should throw up the disclaimer that this is stretching the boundaries of traditional punk, but I feel like the is the necessary and logical next step in the convergence of punk/hardcore and progressive rock. This is by far one of my favorite 'new' bands.

^hmm, they are good! I like the drummer and some interesting chord changes.

As far as traditional punk, maybe a bit Husker Duish?

Always thought this was a great song:

Yeah, their guitarist/songwriter is way into unique tonal/melodic things. It really shows. And John Clardy is an amazing drummer. On their latest albums he's actually mellowed out a bit, which I think is a good thing. This song is way over the top. They routinely throw in covers of Black Flag songs on their latest tours, but in their own style. It's just nice to not see bands be so strongly tied to the image that they actually lose what the aesthetic is really about.

And I always forget about Husker Du. Them and NoMeansNo are bands that I think are severely under rated but also slip through my own thoughts. Wrong is a favorite album of mine.

Saw them at vmworld a couple years ago in Vegas. It was weird. No stage chemistry at all.

I've always loved Pat the Bunny and his projects, and his music strikes a chord with me because my now deceased friend took me to a Ramshackle Glory concert at an anarcho punk house in the city, and I remember us all being really into this music and also disillusioned by the utter rudeness, substance abuse, and general shitstain attitude of most people there. This was Pat's last project after he got out of rehab for drugs and alcohol and before he quit because of his own disillusionment with himself and the scene. I hope he's just doing a passive existence kinda thing nowadays and not burning his brains out by the railroad tracks again. The friend that introduced me to this music wasn't so fortunate with his struggle with addiction.

I haven't bought music in a long time, but I bought their "Get It In Ya" album. I'm so psyched that a band this young is putting out punk rock like that, with that attitude and that "Aussie"-ness. Love it, same with Amyl & The Sniffers. G'day.

Kicking back to the '80s. I hear this guy produced a record or two later in life.

I was never exposed to the Samoans, I know people who like them, suppose I should have a listen.

Here ya go Chaz, here's some good 80s sk8 stuff my friend turned me onto.

NoFx is pretty good, Blink too if you only listen to Cheshire Cat, and for sure the Husker Du. But to the top of this list I add Face 2 Face. The Anthem of my skating, surfing, snowboarding years of past.

Holy Shit. Back in highschool in the mid-90's we all wondered who/what "Angry Samoans" were because of the guy wearing the shirt in the pic on the inside cover of Nirvana's Bleach. We kinda figured it was a band but I never came across a CD/tape at the local store and kinda forgot about it as I got older. Now thanks to the marvels of modern technology I can finally answer that question and listen to Angry Samoans!!

    ^Ha! That's a great story.
Here in the PNW they sure their Nirvana. Can't really go 3 songs on any "alternative" radio station without one of them being a Nirvana song.

Wait for it, or go to part 2 (radical surf/punk jam) if it's not your thing.
