Burners are held @ bay due to major rains that soaked it so no mud bogs kiddies.

Okay, this has something to do with rain. And the beach. And a blocked access.

Normally I would agree, but in his case, his posts are never very clear or articulated very well.....barely comprehensible English.

So I think in this case, not spam.

Oh, I was just kidding about that. When you see me using this: -it means "don't take me seriously". -ok, see how I used it there again? It's as though I'm saying don't take me seriously about not being serious. So I will use it again to undo the joke upon a joke and level things out.

    There, all better now.

The original post might have something to do with rains at Burning Man that must have ruined some sort of beach mud bog ritual. Now a bunch of hippie wannabes wacked on ecstasy and spice are bummin'.

Of course rain should improve mud conditions but what the F do I know? We're dealing with faux hippies here.

Nobody has ever heard of Reno/Sparks, that's why I said "near Vegas". Part of the glory of road tripping is finding your way to a given location as you move along. If I simply provided exact GPS coordinates, then the fun would be taken out of it. However, since I am directing the masses to head "near Vegas", they can stop at gas stations and diners along the way to ask where to go from there. It's all part of the "adventure". For those who are wondering "why adventure?". This response explains it perfectly.

Now do you finally understand or should I expand the horizon a bit but stating that it's "near California"?

I was assuming that a "Burning man" was someone who was out in the hottest part of the season, when it's burning up outside?

Mutual suffering creates a common bond which promotes that 'tribal' effect those people are going for. Or maybe they just like the heat.

Either way, I've never wanted to belong to a tribe that would have somebody like me for a member. And since Burning Man folk have implored me to go, that puts them firmly on the "no" list.

NV weather isn't exactly predictable. So at least in late August it's cooling down but you still don't run much risk of a big cold snow storm. During the summer it's just those thunderstorms that pop up out of nowhere and cause a bit of flash flooding. Last fall, I was helping build a dual slalom track up in the mountains sometime in Sept/Oct. The weather was otherwise perfect, but we had to bundle up because snow flurries were coming down in the late afternoon while we were building trails. Even now, it's in the low 50s at night down in the valley. Gonna be a lot colder than that in October.

And NV actually is divided into two separate, completely different states: Reno and Las Vegas. Reno, the better one, is on top, and it's where Burning Man is held.
Sometimes, I question the value of my content.

Guess I've been Burning Man curious, until I discovered the lottery process, and ticket cost ($600).
While I'm sure it would be a freak show extravaganza to exceed anyone's expectations, it's no longer high on my bucket list.
October weather is far too erratic, and I do wish them all the best at this year's mudfest.

I bet when Burning Man was more spontaneous and "organic" it was a cool event to attend. But now it's a very large, commercial endeavor. I'm sure it's a good time but it ain't the same event that it was years ago. I'd go if somebody gave me their ticket.
