Need help from my friends on the OC board

Can you help me lift this into your truck so I can put it in my front room? Just needs a little vacuuming.

So why'd you put the reply to email link in there, do we have to reply for you as well?

Yes. Yes I do. I even have it on a t-shirt. A friend of mine told me to tell people who ask about helping them move, "how about I give you $20 and you can keep your crappy pizza and warm beer to not help you move"

Only time I've loaded up the trucks for others was to do some bike races. 24HOP!

How does one get this kind of strength? I have a truck and people ask me to help move more than I want. I figure I've got a truck and might as well use it, so I always end up helping. The problem is that when I get there nothing is ready to load and I have to listen to clueless friends or relatives tell me how to use my ratchet straps.

Thereís two kinds of ratchet straps. Those that are user friendly [older style] and easy to use and those that are like a Rubix Cube [newer style] to solve. Luckily Iíve managed to hold on to one strap from my jet ski days that is of the user friendly variety. Several newer ones that I have sit unused because of the headache they create while trying to use them. May I digress, now that I think of it you must be talking about the semi truck style heavy duty ratchet straps. Yes Iíve used those as well, they can be a bugger to figure out at times as well.

I'll be honest and say I have no idea what type you call them, I just hook them to the mounts on the truck, wrap them around a thing, pull the strap tight, and crank it.

The best part is the look on their face when you tell them no. Plus around here everyone seems to move or need stuff moved when it's 115 degrees.

I don't know how many times I've showed my wife how to use the ratchet straps when I load up the kayak for her. It leaves the driveway all nice and secure, but after she comes back I go to undo it and she's just tied it down with the straps in knots. Fortunately we only need to drive down a few blocks to the bay on surface streets.

My straps are awesome, yes, I have awesome straps.

I just put the strap through a slot in the centre of the "axle", pull it snug then crank the ratchet till the strap turns over itself. Getting them undone is the hard part, the two release levers can be tight sometimes.

Been there, having a truck sucks sometimes. I figured out the solution. I just donít have any friends anymore that can beg for my help.
