My wife thought that my biking jacket was stinky......

so she threw it in the wash. Unfortunately, my Garmin bike computer also went through the wash in my jacket. Now when I'm riding 2-3 miles per hour, the Garmin says that I'm actually going 30 miles per hour.

Try filling a bowl with rice, and stuff the Garmin down in there for a day or so....might dry out the electronics.

Thanks - I'll try it. Cheaper than buying a new one.

You've either got your wife trained too good or not enough.

What Net said about the rice does work. My mom was notorious for dropping hers in the toilet. It worked for her a couple of times and my girlfriend once. But those were all the old non smart cell phones.

the rice trick does work for a bit but depended on how long it was in the water it still might crash. Some of the contacts in the electonics will start to corrode and fail.
