    So sad. He was one of my earliest heroes. Loved watching him and Hurricane Hannah battle it out on the track. RIP

    I met him a couple of times, he lived in San Diego and ran a MX class at a spot I used to ride. I also used to ride Imperial San Dunes. Awesome down to earth guy.

    Grew up reading all about him in magazines but that article says he was only 10 years older than I am...Damn.

    Never saw him race but did get to watch Hannah, Barnett, and Wardy go at it in the Atlanta SX, probably '85.
