    MTBR is broken...

I'll be shocked if this thread will post, I havent been able to post anything in over a week now, or reply to anything. The other day, it took me 15 minuts just to get the messages page to finally load correctly without errors and get a message off to moderator Chum about the problem. I've sent three messages to MTBR facebook with no reply yet (ARE YOU READING THIS MTBR SITE OWNER[S]). I guess a week ago MTBR did some DNS stuff (what they said on there facebook page) and the site has been un-usable for me ever since. All the little buttons above this message and smilies are broken, page load times are slower than dial up.. (see screen-shot) Please fix it MTBR.

On second thought, there will be no screenshot, I just got this...AGAIN!!!!!

Could not connect to remote server

Check that the address is spelled correctly, or try searching for the site.

    Search with Google

could be useless info, but try logging out of mtbr completely, and then deleting all of your mtbr-associated browser cookies. clear the browser cache too.

you could also try to clear your computer's DNS cache as well. different methods depending on OS version, what are you running? generally on winXX machines its a dos command like ipconfig- google it for your specific operating system.

Quit looking at porn and blaming it on MTBR.
Adequate protection, and routine maintenance is the key.

No, the site is too littered with ads. Yeah, I know, site needs paid for somehow, but the ads really kill the site's performance. Some days I get perfect, some days I get useless, most days are inbetween. Even with script blockers in place, this place is hit or miss. All other sites I visit regularly that are not plastered in ads work just fine, 100% of the time.

Too true. He does seem to spend an inordinate amount of time on his couch, no?

I was also having problems with both MTBR and Roadbike Review sites. They would just lock up. I reinstalled IE8 and Java, and the problem went away. Google Chrome worked fine.

I hope you're not using IE as your browser?

I was having this issue with multiple sites, too until I dropped IE and started using FF with Ad Blocker. Everything loads up faster now and with less clutter on the pages.

No...Chrome most of the time on my desktop but when things get really slow I use FF with blockers. Works better but still a lot slower than other sites. For some reason, on my laptop, I HAVE to use FF for this site, otherwise the search function or any other drop down menu option won't work at all.

Yep, it's a slow site regardless of browser, compared to other sites. Liked the old site much more, but totally understand the need to pay the bills.

Nope, its still broke, I did everything the second poster suggested but no dice, in fact, I'm amazed I was able to get this page up again, I had to link here through google. The bottom of my browser says 8:15 (yes, this page is still loading, 8 minuts later) and will be 10-12 minuts after I'm done typing, if it loads at all. Its been over a month, I still can't use this site. I'll be amazed if this even post...here goes.

Using an old Acer with an Intel Pentium E2160 @1.8Ghz, 3 GB RAM, Windows Vista on ATT Network and no problems posting.

My problem is that I can't play any modern games on this POC.
