    Moderator Bias

Moderators eliminated my interesting Trump thread, which really wasn't about politics. And yet, they allow the 60% of people are dumb thread, which is filled with vulgarity and religious topics to continue. This is a violation of my duly Constitutional rights. Shame on you, moderators.

Anyone else experienced bias and discrimination on MTBR?

I was surprised the allowed the religious topic to continue too in the "60% of people are dumb thread". It was the religious guy that brought religion into the thread. I tried to be as civil as I could with him. I really wanted to tell him off good. He proved himself to be among the 60%. Also I didn't see anything wrong with your Trump thread either. I had replied to it too.

This is a privately owned and hosted site. The management sets the rules and manages them as they see fit. Any topic with Drumpf in it is likely to be canned pretty quick because of the impassioned responses generated.

...almost as impassioned as eBike related threads, eh?

The 2 threads are entirely different. It's been my mtbr experience that most all subject matter is fair game provided there remains some semblance of civility...as it should be. Furthermore, people expressing their views in an articulate manner is much different than people hurling polital epithets at each other snow flake.

I am actually surprised they did not shut it down sooner. It started off nice and interesting but after the first insult gets thrown out there, gloves come off. Trump threads are going to elicit a reaction especially this early in the term however benign the topic. Obama threads got shut down quickly too. Think of it as oil threads in car or bike forums. The Mods there do not even wait for them to build up, they just shut them down because ultimately they all end up in the same place. I suspect with other threads in this forum, the Mods might give a bit of leeway to see how things go before shutting them down.

The 60% thread wasn't a bunch of people voicing their own religious preference. It was a very civilised general discussion about general principals. I've told you that already, but you're in the sixty ;0)

Civilized? People were throwing insults left and right. And the conversation devolved into people posting vulgar pictures.

Now, I'll admit, there was one fellow on my thread who came out swinging for Trump and started attacking people. (His avatar has since disappeared, so, he may have been banned). However, that was not under my control, nor was it my fault.

Perhaps the moderators could have cut out his comments and sent them to the recycle bin, rather than eliminating the entire thread - which was generating a worthwhile discussion about people skills versus smarts in advancing one's career.

Every other site I participate in if a thread is binned the Mod leaves a reason so the nuts can figure out why it was locked. Why not here?

OP was talking about a National Problem…

I tried to discuss this vs. that in GD some time ago.
I had no idea how political the question was until it was nuked an hour later.

    Oh man...
I feel so sorry for Unigeezer now.

She's going to get away with that because she has a 9 out of 10 adorable rating.

Canadian Incident?! of 2017 or 2016? Not my fault I plugged up the Niagara Falls by dropping Picard in a barrel over it.
