    Mind boggling thoughts.

Some smart phones light up when lifted vertically and then shut down when laid flat. I know my iPhone does this. Does that mean when it's in my pocket and I'm standing vertical it's lit up the whole time? >scratching head<

I hope so, that explains the long battery life anyway.

That's what I've been waiting for. Have they been invented yet? At least some see-through pocket area pants so my ass crack isn't hanging out.

Yes, it does that in your pocket and you should turn that function off. My grandmother got an iPhone recently and was complaining the her battery was dying within a few hours but only when out of the house. Turns out her phone was lighting up over and over again in her purse while moving around.

Does this mean that DJ is a senior citizen?

TevOR, you can't come prancing in here after a, who knows how long hiatus and call me old. We have a "50 year old plus" forum where that takes place daily.

Besides the old iPhones die very fast. The new ones I have zero issue with battery life. Even while lit up in my vertical pants.

Do you hold the phone at various distances from your face with that concentrated squint look? Is your font size enlarged on your phone? Do you put Walgreens OTC reading glasses on to see your phone?

Let me know so I can tally the numbers and determine if you are old or not.

    No.
Just a thought on the refrigerator subject though.

If you put your phone in the refrigerator and shut the door, the phone light probably will go out.
Those refrigerator door switches are universal.

I bought watch in 2004; Casio G Shock Ceptor and never knew it had a handy feature for a long time.
One night when riding the motorcycle, I glanced over at my wrist to see the time figuring I'd barley be able to see the readout by overhead streetlights but to my surprise, rotating my arm (wrist motion) activates the lighted dial.
I'd say it's very James Bond except it won't hypnotize people or shoot poison darts unless I just haven't found the right buttons.

I guess you could check this theory if you have a Samsung phone: Stand up for a while, fart, and if you explode, you know it lit up...

If an iPhone lights up in the forest, but no one is there to see it light up, would it wake DJ from his nap he's taking in his truck while double-parked at the mall?

I don't know what dimension he's in, but there should be a space between each ellipse . . .

I've only seen one member here (007) use them properly.

    Ellipses

An ellipsis is a set of three periods ( . . . ) indicating an omission. Each period should have a single space on either side, except when adjacent to a quotation mark, in which case there should be no space.

Please note: This is incorrect also, but it's funny, lol! (.)(.)

Oh B.S. . . . I've used them correctly since being scolded by Korn several months ago. At least I thought I was using them correctly by diminishing how many I used. Now I find out there needs to be a space between each one. Why . . . why . . . why Korn didn't you make me aware of this sooner. All this time I've been living ellipsis deficient, with many whispering under their breath. Me none the wiser. I curse you ellipsis deficiency.

I thought it was no space if next to quotation marks.
I'm going running on the beach.

    Maybe I'll get that right

The ellipsis is a character, not three characters. On a Mac, it is [Option + Semicolon]. On a PC, looks like it is [Ctrl + Alt +.]; at least in MS apps, not sure if that will work here.
You don't want to put spaces between the dots, as that could cause weird line wraps:

I thought we were talking about mountain bikes .
    . .

Doing a little googling, it looks like there are all kinds of rules for using the things and people don't always agree.

So, who wants to have a conversation about en dashes vs em dashes?

    Hello?

    Anyone?

You don't want to put spaces between the dots, as that could cause weird line wraps:

Doing a little googling, it looks like there are all kinds of rules for using the things and people don't always agree.

So, who wants to have a conversation about en dashes vs em dashes?

    Hello?

    Anyone?
So I've been doing it right all these years and Korn has been doing it wrong. At least we can agree to disagree on that one.

I'm fairly confident someone is breaking into my house for the sole purpose of stealing my spoons at a barely noticeable rate, but noticeable nonetheless. Which is weird because my spoons are basically worthless.

Reminds me- Don't hire the company around here known as Re-Roofers because it sounds like they didn't do the job right the first time.

No ideas to offer on that because I can't think of how I'd use a spoon as a tool although I have used the standard silverware knife countless times for prying or as a shim or screwdriver.

I do like that story though. I'm going to use it for my own.

Since they do go missing and are likely left in the garage, yard, window sill or basement, I'd rather not 'cop to' the accusation my wife will eventually think of.

I'm going to mention someone may be getting in the house and slowly pilfering our knives. Lying about it just seems easier than going to Goodwill and spending $3 on a set of 12.

^ That is pretty mind boggling. I wonder how much that number would get wittled down if it were possible to just calculate the number of possible moves that would make sense. The number of total moves possible is fairly irrelevant.

One game could have infinite moves, as both players could just move one of their pieces back-and-forth.

    I'm sure someone here heard of this or read it somewhere but still, I'll preface it with;

    This is a true story-

A bike company that sells direct started having higher incidents of customer complaints about product damage. Somebody came up with an idea of printing the box a bit differently and all but eliminated the issue.
The bike box has a prominent warning (probably just as before)

    F R A G I L E

and they now have added the image of a flat screen tv on the side of the box. That's all they did to virtually solve the issue.

Truly "thinking outside box" - mind bottling

Well, I feel really dumb now. Last night, I got some olives and some palmetto fronds. I cut up the palmetto fronds and stuffed them into the olives. They were really fibery, and didn't taste very good.

LOL - I cannot think of or hear 'mind boggling' w/o thinking 'mind bottling'. Your assertion is not w/o merit these days though. You can either find anything on the net or create it yourself. Thanks for posting the link DJ.

I was surprised nobody got the ref right away though. Bunch a old farts out of tune with comedy or movie references !! Maybe net wurker recognized though.

I don't think I've seen the whole movie. Although that scene I have and It didn't click at first until you mentioned it and I looked it up. Yes, Net and Korn are on top of most of the comedy movies through the 2000's. And SciFi, me not so much.

That reminds me of another "true" story.

I think this is a standard business 101 story or at least that's where I heard it.

A kid gets an idea on how to increase a products use by 1/3 and in turn increase sales of said product by 1/3. The product was toothpaste and beleive the company was crest or the other. So he writes crest several times explaining he has this idea and all he wants in return is 30% of the profit on the 1/3 more of sales. Finally after many attempts crest gives the kid a meeting and lo and behold they agree to implement his idea. It turns out his idea worked and the kid gets very wealthy very fast.

The idea? Increase the circumference of the toothpaste tube opening by 30%. Moral of the story? Fluoride is bad for you. Boats and ho's.

I'm not too drawn to whole movies of that nature but it's fun to enjoy some of the funniest clips or lines. On some car forums, a few of us played some back n forth a bit on guessing movie lines. Comedies in the 80's and 90's when my kids were into it were better years for me on movie lines.

With this group here, I don't have to go hunting for funny lines and comedy too far.

The ellipsis is a character, not three characters...

What, that you learned how to spell "ellipsis"?
This post is a natural product. Variances in spelling & grammar should be appreciated as part of its character & beauty.

I think it would be more mind boggling if it was with the same man.

I jet skied for 10 years. Every weekend was spent at the lake. I often thought about hanging out at the ramp for the day just to film some stupid events. I've seen some stupid shit. One guy backing his expressive bass boat down the ramp and the trolling motor was in the down position. I yelled but it was too late, the motor drive shaft and prop folded in half. He got out and was screaming and cursing out his buddy who was supposed to be guiding him.

Another time a young couple just loaded their stand up jet ski in the back of a very high lifted up Toyota truck. They didn't secure it and took off up the ramp very fast. The ski flew out and dropped a good 4' smashing onto the concrete and sliding down the ramp 20'. I ran up to help them reload it, the hull was toast. Pretty sure they were drunk and were just wanting to get it loaded and get out of there. Many other crazy stupid things witnessed. The best time to film is at the end of the day when people are exhausted from being in the sun all day and many are drunk.

That's a good story ! Now I want to get rich.

What focking beach? You live in Colorado Springs for God sakes. I live just 2 hours north of you and trust me there is no "beach to run on".
