Saw Zeppelin in the early '70's. There is only one drummer that I have ever seen who could play harder............Billy Cobham.

Some new school drummers that crush it, sorry I don't have their names just the bands.
    The drummer from:
    Khann(drummers name is Josh something)
    Both from Kylesa(dual drummers!)
    Jucifer
    New Wave Blasphemy
    Sarah Johnson
    Graf Orlock
    The locust
    Lightning Bolt
Careful, you might not like the music. Sorry there's no links, I'm on my Internet phone.

Amazing that Bonhams son's band sounded
    just like Zeppelin.

Erik Sandin (a.k.a. Smelly) can hold his own (along with a couple of other standouts).

Levee = the Zep song I put at the front of my Zep playlist.

Bonham had so much power when he played that he got a distinctive sound from the drums. Not many drummers out there that you can tell who they are just by their sound. Moon was another case - awesome drummer and truly an out of control nut. Both awesome in their own way.

This makes me think of a Simpsons quote: " ... there's Jimmy Page, the greatest thief of American black music who ever walked the Earth ...".

A great band; but the quote hits close to home.
