my FIL collected land rovers. He had one from the Safari Resort in Scottsdale that was zebra striped. They would pick you up from the airport in it.

its rare to see an original bronco uncut.

My dad bought one of the very last Land Rovers imported here in 74. From the dealer in in Newport Beach CA It was the same color. He sold it five years later to buy the house I grew up in. He built a sleeping platform in the back that him and mom slept on camping on the Kern and I remember watching Star Wars at the drive in in 77 in Fountain Valley from the back of it.

I recall reading once that there were so many options available on the LR 88 and 109 series that every vehicle that left the factory was different than others.

My sister's Landy that they drove around Morocco (she lives in Germany). They bought a newer version that they are outfitting the back to camping quarters, so they now have two Landys.

Drove all the way from near London to Teheran and back in one of these LRs. Not the most reliable of vehicles, but I think we got a lemon. Bought it used from the British Army! They are resilient tho, we got broadsided all the way down one side by a full passenger bus that was cutting a corner on a blind bend, but after a 3 day pause at a mediaeval mechanic shop where we rebuilt the roof rack and supports, then repanelled the passenger door and part of that side with raw sheets of aluminum and very amateur welding, it made it all the rest of the way out and back with no prob. I also unearthed a scrap carb from another abandoned LR out the back and solved another issue we had since we'd been in Yugoslavia... Great vehicles, but after several thousand miles I guarantee a sore bum...
