    Home-town band discovery

Gotta love when you "discover" a band that you've never heard before, especially when they are from your home-town.

I stumbled across these guys when I had my slacker playing this morning.

Has the classic rock feel right out of the 60's/70's. They got my $9 for instant download, I'm hooked. You can listen to their recent album for free below.

Band camp lottery thread, ummm, I'm not following

Sorry if it looks like spam, it's not, I don't know the band members or anything like that, I just thought they were quite good and figured you OC folks might need something good to listen to

A few years back I discovered a little band that was local to an area where we have a getaway house. I enjoy following their progress. They are so different from any other music I've heard.

Big Head Todd and the Monsters are a local band out of Boulder. Great music.

Also when I lived in San Diego The Beat Farmers were a local band that somewhat made it big. I saw them several times live. And the lead singer Country Dick Montana I met on a few occasions. Super down to earth cool guy. Unfortunately he died of a heart attack on stage in BC.
