^ that's super impressive if true.

Quick math... You would need to ride 20,000 miles for 50 years to hit 1,000,000 miles.

    Good luck with that.

There’s some more good news but someone smarter than me will have to post it. I don’t know how to post links from my phone. If you google it it shouldn’t be hard to find. BTW love the positive dog stories. Let's try not to muck this one up since the media largely focuses on negative news. It's nice to hear some positive stories from time to time.

I wonder how many of the miles he has ridden are on the bike pictured? It has steel cotter pin cranks!

I do have a couple bikes with cotter pin cranks, they are plenty functional.

Wow, has it been that long? I visited Berlin in 1995, while there were still some pretty big sections. A college friend of mine was living there and had a view of Checkpoint Charlie from his office at the university he worked at.

It just suddenly dawned on me that having health insurance is a good thing to have. Ya know, cause uh, mountainbikers and such… well, we’re higher risk than those fatfücks who just sit on their fat asses and eat and eat and eat and eat and fückin eat, ya know? So nice to suddenly know that WE’RE the fückin problem.

Actually, those people account for 75% of healthcare expenses. Sports injuries (especially MTB) is a small percentage of the big picture.

Can't read much of the article without subscribing, but they say lung cancer and melanoma are the 2 biggest drivers of this fall. I wonder if this is down to less smoking and more awareness of the dangers of sun exposure?

Specifically due to advancements in treatment.
The improvement, 2.2%, is in the United States among cancer patients.
    Not the general population.
Greatest improvement on record, in the last year.
The improvement was primarily driven by improved treatment for melanoma and lung cancer.

Really good news! I am fed up with having chunks of flesh carved out of me, so maybe they'll come up with a less barbaric treatment for melanoma soon!

Heard today of this good news. Smoking down and improved treatment. Historically low solar activity will also undoubtedly improve the amount of skin cancer occurrences
