Female singers with strong, powerful voices..

Forget about autotune, forget about those female singers with tiny voices trying to do that sex kitten whispery thing, lets have a shout out for those female singers that really knows how to power through.

To get the ball rolling and give you a hint what I'm talking about I present you with Anouk and Annisette.

Anouk is a Dutch singer with an awesome voice. She starts out easy and really starts blasting in the final half of this number, lots of power, crystal clear and spot on, enjoy.
    Anouk - Jerusalem [Live @ Pinkpop 2009] - YouTube

Second singer is Annisette Koppel, a Danish singer who unfortunately isn't among us anymore. Really strong voice and you can hear her pouring her heart into it, great vibrato and long before autotune was an option.
Wild Child - Savage Rose - YouTube

So lets hear the Tina Turner's, Aretha's, women that sing with all they got, blowing everything off the stage. Those that can blast at full strength and still hit the key..

I saw Carol King live and was blown away with how big her voice is, without a mic btw. It filled the theater and deserves/demanded a WOW.

Funny, I posted this in the "Little Known Hot Female Singers" thread too, but it is a legit cross-post for this thread. This girl can sing! This is just one of their songs from their Van Sessions, but they are of course a band and play live shows too. Enjoy it!

Ok, at the risk of being drawn and quartered, I'll throw out Sinead O'Connor. Like her stuff or not, I love her voice and it's definitely got some power behind it....

3 guys and a girl in a car and the girl gets to drive, I've never seen that before..

I love the replies in this thread, I'm so busy checking out all the cool singers and my youtube favorites list is having a hard time keeping up.

I especially love when you include a youtube link or embed a video. I don't mind typing a name into youtube but if I only have a name I might hit 2-3 videos that are not really special and miss the gold, so rather than just writing Lyn Collins, drop a link to a video where you think she really shows her stuff.

Vibeke Stene, former lead singer for Tristania in one of the few songs where she gets the lead part instead of trading vocal parts with angry growling dude.

And a couple more of Tarja

This one's my personal favourite, she just kills it once the band kicks in.

Mlny Parsons of Royal Thunder. If you're a fan of classic rock or modern stoner metal, check them out. Psychedelic swampy rock, hardly metal but they always play on metal bills. Cant believe how good this band has gotten over the last few years.
