    conversation with my wife

    I happened across this website:

    ExecutedToday.com

which shows that on this day in 1964 a fella was put in the electric chair for the crime of robbery...the last time someone was executed for something other than murder.

Me: wow, this guy got the death penalty for robbery
Wife: really? it thought you had to kill someone to get the death penalty
Me: i know, he was the last one
Wife: you know what...i'm okay with it
Me: really? then where do you draw the line?
Wife: i don't know, give me some crimes

    23 years.

Back on point, the only crime I could come up with below robbery was neighbor's dog pooping on our lawn. She said no on that one.

    Agreed-

There is no reason to give a guy THE CHAIR when he let lets FiFi turd-up someones yard.
    We're goin' GREEN saving energy and stuff around these parts so you'd just stage it a bit. Wednesday's headline;

Here in the UK the punishment tends to reflect the severity of the outcome. I don't agree with that. I think harsher punishment should follow premeditated crimes.

For example, if you kill someone while driving a car it's pretty likely you're going to jail. Usually for six-years. You didn't set out to kill, just had a lapse of concentration doing an everyday talk and bang, you're in jail.

But many crimes are premeditated. You don't accidentally break into someone's house or get drunk when you know you're going to have to drive home. If you do these kinds of things you're not a normal person who has made a mistake, you're a scumbag!

I think people who make genuine mistakes you get a break and the punishment for scumbags should be draconian. I would jail bike thieves, first offence. Do it again, longer in jail.

And I would execute rapists by the way.

Serial rapists. Pedophiles. A good case could be made for giving them the needle. Traitors during wartime.

Agree, but I don't see why they should be given a pain-free death. Do they deserve one?

He didn't mention the size of the needle and where it would be placed/shoved.

    To me

killing someone in the heat of a moment, or stealing something to feed yourself is wrong but sometimes understandable. Almost instinctual.

Sitting back and not being emotionally invested and thinking with your mind instead of your heart or instincts and coming to the conclusion that you'd have someone killed for the sake of some more, possibly, order is barbaric
    Round and round we go

Our "justice" system of deterrence is an absolute failure & now prioritizes profit. God help any innocent person that falls victim to the system. God also help anybody that tries to steal my bikes or any of my property for that matter. On second thought God will be no help here.

When the economy crashes like it is doing in slow motion people turn more to crime. Expect it to increase now. Does that mean there are now and in the future going to be more bad people needing execution than there are now?

The elite cartel bankers are the ones who should be fed to the giant stomach in the desert to experience a new definition of pain as they are digested for the next 1000 years. They are the ones destroying entire countries.
