    Carrier that allows month-to-month?

So I picked up a Nexus 4 but haven't activated it yet. In addition to that, I want to scale back my voice and data plan, as I rarely ever bump up against 1GB of bandwidth usage each month. Problem is I'm with T-Mobile. My contract expired in November and they won't let me change my plan unless I sign on for another 2 years. Not interested.*

So are there any other carriers that will let you go month-to-month voice and data (2GB would be plenty) from the get go, or am I screwed? Any recommendations?

*In addition to just simply not wanting to be tied into an agreement, I'm kind of cheesed at T-Mobile for dropping support for my phone's mobile hotspot function, which I could buy back for an additional $14,99 a month.

Verizon does a month-to-month. Also look at all of the minor carriers that do prepaid plans. A lot of them offer month-to-month also.

I am looking at changing carriers, but it does not look like it will be a viable option for me. I am currently with Sprint and going to Verizon will force me into a more expensive plan, since Verizon's basic minimal plans offer more minutes and more texts than I want or use. It looks like I will be staying with Sprint on a contract plan. Have to change numbers from TX to IN.

Yeah, Verizon is my top choice. Sounds like they've upped their customer service in the last few years, too.

Also noticed that T-Mobile does offer monthly plans. Funny, since none of this is mentioned when I log in to my account. Guess I need to call in. Also guess this thread might have been a bit premature.

Virgin Mobile. Unlimited everything for $35 to $50 a month. I have Verizon. I'm satisfied with our service.

Solavei uses t-mobiles network, but it has unlimited everything for 49 bucks a month and no contract.

They also do a cheesy sales recruiting thing, but you can easily not participate and just use the service.

Most of the Carriers I have been on or know about usually require a 6-month attachment

good times if ya like that stuff

*** FWIW, I just noticed (in the sea of 18s) that the retired F-14 is sitting there front and center!
