    cadillac 1955/6 or buick 1955?

So I'm thinking about getting a car, finally. My first car.

I pretty much narrowed it down to a Mercedes cls 63 amg, or possibly a 500, OR a Buick special 1955, or a Cadillac deville 1955 or 1956.

I think I like the cadillac 1956 most, and then the 1955 and then the buick. And I'm basically buying this car as a toy. I don't really need a car, but now I want a car, a cool one. With the 1955 cadi there is one less chromed part I have to paint black compared to the 1956. thats a good argument i Think for the 1955, but the 56 on the other hand looks just a tiny bit more like a "futuristic spaceship from mars" with that extra rear chromed part.

So what are the pros and cons with these cars? I dont really care about mundane sh1t like gas mileage, top speed, cost, practicality, acceleration and so on. I'm more interested in that the car looks nice (according to me) and sounds good.

    no not yet at least.

But if I get a 50ies car there will be some "mods" done to it. Sequential fuel injection, new ignition system and away with the distributor. To make the engine completely modern.

When I was a kid, we had a mid 50's coupe deville. It was a tank. My parents sold it. A month later, the cops showed up at our house because the buyers of the car were using it to rob banks and they had (of course) left the registration in my dads name. The cops could quickly tell my dad was not a bank robber.

I remember that it had a huge comfortable back seat, but I was only 10 years old, so my memory might be a little distorted. The other cool thing about it was betting the neighborhood kids they could not find the gas cap. No one ever did.

No, it's just like the 56 Chevys. The rear taillight flips out and it sits behind it.

If I remember right, you had to push the little round red light to release the entire housing and have access to the gas cap.
