Good job! C19 Pandemic - only the Good News!

Please post links to any good or promising news regarding the pandemic. This could be anything from the availability of a vaccine (soon please!) to inspiring stories from heathcare workers or grocery store workers or anyone who is making a positive impact on others lives.

Mods: please delete any and all negative posts, any mention of politics, and or other inflamatory trolling. I'd like there to be one thread where we can quickly find hope and some silver linings right now.

    I'll start:

I ain't be illin', and have learned to enjoy this WFH gig. Much less stressful, and have enjoyed being with the family.

Though not a permanent solution in my line of work, I will be bummed when we have to resume our regularly scheduled programming, muthafugga...

    Good news indeed.
    Leading by example.
This makes me happy and it makes you happy.
It’s all good, and getting better.

    Even more good news :
    https://www.genengnews.com/news/nova...-for-covid-19/

Announcement of the hydroxychloroquine trial comes a month after Novartis committed to donating 130 million tablets of generic hydroxychloroquine to support global COVID-19 pandemic response efforts—including 30 million tablets that the pharma giant said it has already donated to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for the U.S. Strategic National Stockpile.
Further shipments overseas will be dispatched based on requests from governments around the world, the company said.
“We are donating hydroxychloroquine tablets for COVID-19 patients including for use in this and other clinical trials with the hope that researchers and healthcare workers can quickly and scientifically determine whether hydroxychloroquine can help patients around the world combat this disease,” said Richard Saynor, CEO of Sandoz. “We will continue to fulfill orders for existing customers to ensure the medicine remains available to US patients who rely on it for other indicated uses.”

That would be considered bad news here in the South.

It's even easier to [email protected]#k off at work than it was before which was already quite easy. More shit to argue about on the internet. Related to the last one but you get a real solid feel for which of your friends have never had an original thought in their lives.

    *And oh yeah, "free" money.

Again, don’t consider any of that positive.
    Funny that.....
I expect the wrench to make its way to the gear box soon enough......

That bench is one helluva positive note. Not only original in thought, but in action.
That kind of stuff is wrench proof.

    This is actually great news:

    https://www.cell.com/action/showPdf?...2820%2930610-3

Basically what it is saying is that parts of the immune response to SARS-CoV2 overlaps with other known and less serious coronaviruses. I would also go as far as making the hypothesis that once these other viruses (HCoV-OC43, HCoV-HKU1, HCoV-NL63, and HCoV-229E) start spreading in the population in the fall/winter, like the do every year, it will dramatically reduce the impact of SARS-CoV2 on all of us. This could be very, very good news.

It is perfectly understandable for people in overcrowded circumstances to long for, even to be led to, social distance.
    They have my sympathy.
