    We were visiting my wife's brother and his family when they lived in Boise many summers ago. There was a "swarm" of those nasty Jerusalem crickets. On the street outside my BIL's house, there were a bunch that got crunched by cars. You could smell the rotting corpses baking in the sun.

    That was where I first learned of the horsehair nematodes. We were walking with our kids and they saw the cricket corpses "moving" in the street. Only when you got closer was it obvious that it wasn't the crickets, but the parasites.
