    Gluten free food

Do gluten free food help you in bike training? Or is it irrelevant?

If you do not have a gluten intolerance then it will not make any difference.

No, unless you have gluten intolerance or celiac disease what would be the point? cutting out an entire food group may not be good. Gluten is a natural part of many types of grain. Processed gluten is a questionable ingredient.

A study in the UK several years ago (early 2000s?) looked at people who claimed they were gluten intolerant. 30% actually were not, including some that were diagnosed by their doctor.
So the take-away point is do not self-diagnose gluten intolerance. If you really suspect you are go to a specialist, not just your family physician. There are a lot of other conditions that mimic the same symptoms and have nothing to do with gluten.

Have your doctor check out your glutes.

Gluten intolerance can't be tested for, the only way to see if you are sensitive to it is to remove it from your diet for a few weeks, then reintroduce it to see if it's causing any problems. Celiac disease can be tested for via a blood test, and a biopsy.

Gluten intolerance is a broad-sweeping term that depending on the disorder, can be diagnosed through some specific genetic and anti-body testing.
