Always drink potable water or bring your own?

I tend to bring my own just so it doesn't cause stomach issues or I have to deal with rusty water as not all water sources are the same, but wondering if that's being overly cautious. What do you guys/girls do?

Well, given that there is only one trail here that comes near water and even that would be hard to drink, I always carry my own. Downside of riding in the desert. Upside is there is very little to no downtime for riding.

Depends.....some of my bigger loops cross through County/State Parks that have water fountains....others have water spigots at the campgrounds. Really has never been a problem for me.
