I like how you'll get 50 or 60 views of a thread, but no body interested in riding. Everybody says "Man I'd sure like to ride over at Wilson creek" yeah right! I could offer a free ride to the trail and a bike and extra helmet and shoes and all you'll e-riders still would not go.

maybe they are e-scared of the place. Couple things:
    1. I thought it burned down?
    2. Are they still clear cutting it?
    3. I am out of town for a birthday party, enjoy yourselves.

I am being dragged to my 2nd cousin's engagement party Saturday. Nothing like hanging out with 100 people you don't know and having to put on a freaking suit to do it. That will be much more fun than riding.
Friends don let friends ride road bikes.

Yeah if you can keep your speed up and ride from one wall to the other and stay out of the middle earth its a blast, but there seemed to be a few more big tree's down( Chainsaw size) and they messed up our flow

What a bunch of nonsense. As a father I would never let my children watch this. Why do Xians get to co-opt the word truth? At least you got the planets orbiting the Sun right.

How dare you hijack my thread
This is a thread about riding and camping at Wilson Creek not some kind of self righteous witch hunt

You mess with Moto, you mess with me...

Our mission is to help mtn. bike enthusiasts and foster a healthy community. The message boards are the core of our community. As a result, we would appreciate it if people read and abide by these guidelines.

The Mtbr staff and volunteer moderators monitor the message boards, removing inappropriate content. The purpose of these guidelines is to explain what kind of messages are "inappropriate," and therefore will be deleted. We are explaining these guidelines beforehand, so if a message is removed everyone will understand why it was removed. In general, we err on the side of leaving messages up. The entire site is premised on sharing product information, so as one might imagine we are strong proponents of free speech. That being said, here are some specific reasons why we remove certain messages:

    1. The message insults or degrades another member of the community.
    2. The message contains profanity, offensive language, or racial epithets.
    3. The message is an advertisement or spam.
    4. The message contains obscene or pornographic images/photos/text/videos.
    5. The message promotes illegal activity (at our discretion).
    6. The message has been posted to more than 2 boards. Posting the same message to multiple boards is spam, and all posts may be removed and the user may be banned. Please post to the most relevant board only, no more than 2.
    7. The message is posted as "flame-bait" and is posted to incite flames and insults.

    Yeah, whatever.

Now you're cast of steel and cast aside. Broken dreams maybe, but you haven't died

When camping Wilson's Creek, have you ever woke up with a timber rattler or copperhead in your sleeping bag trying to keep warm? I don't know about biking Wilson's Creek, just driving the roads to get there can be scary enough. I drove down the Globe Road years ago, as I described it, you drive up to the edge of the mountain, then drive over the edge.
Thank you, Enoch. I enjoyed your little video. Have to email a link to my pastor.
So you think you can jump!

Funny, Wilson Creek is the only place in N.C. I have ever seen a rattler in the wild.

Same exact thing is true of volunteer trail work postings.

motobutane, it is because Wilson's Creek trails suck! They are not worth riding even if you loaned out a bike to ride them! Go to Tsali, Bent Creek, North Mills River, Dupont, anywhere but Wilson's Creek!
any time spent riding a bicycle is re-cycled goodness....

Is anybody meeting them out there this weekend? I was thinking about making the trip, but I didn't get back to the op quick enough. I've never been there, and I can't find much info online, so I don't want to make the trip and get lost. It sounds like they're doing some shuttling, which sounds good to me.
