    Whats up with greenslick?

So is the road leading up to it still closed except on weekends or what? and has the trail had any major changes since last year when they changed a few things? Plan on heading up there soon with some friends so I need to find out which days I can go.

I haven't seen it closed any time I went to ride it. The last time I went was probably a couple weeks ago and I'm usually up there once every few weeks. When was the last time you rode it? I started back in October, so I'm not too familiar with all the changes that have been made to it, so I can't be much help there.

Only "official posting" I ever saw was after they made the last announcement about closing Rice Pinnacle for the proposed logging project. It was a simple 8x11.5 piece of paper in a clear unsealed sleeve. First rain took care of that effort.

Since this closing has happened a few times before, I didn't think much about it and haven't followed up. I'd be more concerned about the poison ivy. Nice early crop this year.

    Enjoy your ride.

Is the poison ivy really that bad already? I was hoping to go up there on Friday but maybe not.

I was just up there a day or two ago. There was a lot of poison ivy off the trail, but it hasn't encroached yet.

So, I assume you didn't want to be told to check under the bed for the Ivy Monster?

I rode Green's Lick Thursday 05/21. I didn't see PI encroachment there, but on Hickory Top and Sleepy Gap I did, but certainly nothing like Richmond Hill. I don't sweat PI, it adds the necessary punitive factor for picking the right line But I did huff a bee into my throat the other day, thankfully it didn't panic and nail me but it almost caused me to hit a tree as I gacked and spit trying to get it out.

I thought sleepy gap was hiking only, maybe just the part going up to the parkway is.

False Sleepy Gap isn't illegal, is it? Access off of Explorer? Wasn't posted. Saw tracks. If so, whoops!

Sleepy Gap is legal from South Ridge Rd. to Explorer trail and from South Ridge to Pine Tree.

Okay, good, that's what I thought. Whew, I was worried I'd broken only the second law in my whole life, other than that mattress label thing a few years back
