Did same last night. Hubba, hubba. Afterwards, when I went to go to sleep all I could see were the scenes of big, wide, open Americana being pedaled....

Hats off to Matt Lee, the fast dude from Chapel Hill, a name from back in the day NC XC racing.

The longer the ride - the better the pain

I caught it on TV last week. Half of me is inspired to go out and do somehing crazy like ride my bike 2,000 miles. The other half of me is sitting there thinking "these people are just plain nuts!"

They did seem to spend more time in hotel rooms than I had thought from what I had previously read about this race. And I guess you could pretty much eat whatever you wanted to for a month if you are burning 10,000 calories a day. I'm pretty sure that, even if my legs could take it, my butt would rebel within a week from spending that much time in the saddle.
Friends don let friends ride road bikes.

you tube "ride the divide". the entire movie is posted in hd. but you should still probably purchase a hard copy to make things like that possible for others in the future.

Agreed, except of the two people spending time in the rooms one dropped out and the other finished in 29 days. I don't think Matt Lee was earning too many CC points booking rooms

With that said, dropping out of the GDR and finishing in 29 days is way more than I've ever done on a bike!
