Check out the Lake Powhatan campground. It is in the Bent Creek forest, has facilities, a lake, and lots of trailheads.

...which will actually be closed in November Closes October 31 according to the official page on recreation.gov.

The Lake Powhatan campground closes November 30, according to their latest schedule, so you should be able to stay there until Thanksgiving weekend:

The Davidson River campground is another option, and it stays open year-round:

    IMHO:

Davidson River if you want the classic (hard) Pisgah trails. Powhatan if you want fun for everyone.

The Bike Farm at the OBB Ranch might have field camping available by then too... Don't know about showering facilities, but give Cashion or Eva a shout!

Mum's backyard. $20 a night and you are guaranteed to see bears.

Glad I still check in here now and again! All rumors and gossip and thread stealing and "what's the best" topics. I love MTBr. BTW: The rates have gone to $50 a night and the petting zoo was shut down by the county. That Cherokee business ruined it for all of us.

    Edit: The Bike Farm

Now you're cast of steel and cast aside. Broken dreams maybe, but you haven't died
