    Tsali SS Ride

Finally hit Tsali on the single speed today. It was nowhere near as bad as I had thought in my mind. I re-geared to 32/22 before the ride, and I made every climb but one, and got fouled right at the top of that one. Ran into Duckman and got to chat for a few also, really good seeing you Jeff.

A couple of my riding buds

There's still a little color here and there

I make this face a lot when riding

My pal Hoovie with his SS

    A little more color

    Blake chillin' after a climb

I love my SS! I had a blast today, and can't wait to go again.

I just get confused, too many buttons and levers to fiddle with.

    Wimps

I don't change gearing ever. Just too lazy.

I ride a 46/28 belt drive (equivalent to a 32/18) and can clear everything at Tsali without issue. Can do everything at DuPont on good legs but will walk some stuff on longer rides (30 to 40 miles). There are times in Pisgah that I wish I was on a 32/20.
I may get one someday because I can still use the 118t belt.
Just stick it in granny and start grinding.

^^I may try 32/20 next time, not sure I can mash that up some of the hills yet though to be honest.

    I liked this shot too

I know that if I went to a 32/20 equivalent that I could pedal a few things more but usually by the time I am walking, if people are still pedaling, I am still walking just as fast. Either that or I got far enough ahead that I still get to the top at the same time.

Just remember there are 2 types of single speed riders.
Those who push and those who lie about it.

Anyways, welcome to the dark side. If you decide to come out here to DuPont, hit me up and I will tour you around. Always fun to ride with other single speeders.

I'll hit you up for sure, thanks for the offer! I gotta get at least two more trips out that way before the year ends.

Lu, not that I know of yet. I'm game for whenever the weather looks decent though.

Well, I live about an hour away so I'm up for it pretty much anytime the weather is decent. Just let me know when you'd like to go and I'll see if I'm free, always up for riding with new people.
