Tsali, affected by fires, or getting to it?

Planning a Tsali trip soon, coming west. I have read that parts of 19/74 have closed. Having a hard time finding maps showing where the fires are. Mainly want to find out if Tsali has been affected, will be open, or I can actually get to it reasonably.

Anyone over that way have some insight?

There are quote a few fires burning in Franklin area in the Nantahala. Depending on the wind it could be pretty smoky over in Tsali.

Try calling the USFS and ask about conditions...

I was reading further, and this link has a 'Related Information' box with a PDF stating road closures. But even if not closed, air quality may be bad as Banjopickin noted. http://inciweb.nwcg.gov/incident/article/5081/34449/

https://www.airnow.gov/index.cfm?act...ow.local_state is a good resource for current air quality.
