    Table Rock Dupont?

I rode to the end of Table Rock tonight and it looks like there is some kind of vague path beyond the horse tie-out. It was too late to follow it, but am curious if there's some kind of "table rock" or anything noteworthy at the end.

If there's not anyone know why it's called "Table Rock"? There are some very impressive rocks on the left side of the trail about half way to the end. None of them looked like tables though. I think one is biggest solo rock I've seen in Dupont.

If you continue on, you'll end up in Lake Julia.

Then I probably wouldn't bother with that. Thanks

It would be interesting to see, but looking at map the hike back up and out would suck. Looks very steep.

Right now there are a lot of wet leaves, probably be doing some serious sliding. Nice trail though, doesn't look like it gets a lot of use.

So, your post aroused my curiosity. We saw the horse tie out and followed a faint trail off to the right. It turned into a steep slide fest and we didn't see anything and turned around. The trail is fun, as you note. Like a roller coaster, but not the faint trail that continued on.

Timothy, don't know why the email copy of your message had a question about the rock, but the web version doesn't. The rock(s) are half way out on the official trail, not on the informal extension. They may not hold much interest to anyone who's not interested in salamanders.

Still curious about the name "Table Rock". Going to ask some of the people who have a long time connection with the forest.

I edited my post. Twice. I didn't read your post thoroughly before I replied. I was saying we saw no rock at the top, but you never said there was one up there.
